Lounging Around Disney-Round 4 was full of fun and friends.

Boathouse-Disney Springs

I’m thrilled as my friend Len voices his desire to visit the bar at The Boathouse. Like me, he wishes to behold the famous Duck Duck Razz. If you make a picture-worthy drink, I’m there.

Blue Curacao, Stoli Razz, Peach Schnapps, lemon juice and simple syrup, makes a happy little pond, for an adorable rubber duck. It’s hard not to smile, when drinking a Duck Duck Razz. Plus, you get to keep the duck.

Kurt, is one of the best Disney World bartenders we’ve encountered during our Lounging Around Disney quest (along with Skipper Robin from Trader Sam’s). Kurt and his fellow bartenders, never cease moving.

They make drink, after drink, after drink. Kurt says he’s lost count of how many Duck Duck Razzes he makes in a day. It’s innumerable.

Kurt asks if we are celebrating anything special. We explain, we’re friends. Our anniversaries are a day apart. This year, we are celebrating 20 years and our friends are celebrating 25. We’re toasting our epic Disney-versary trip. Within a few minutes Kurt presents us with glasses of green liquid. It’s green tea liquor, sent by the gentleman sitting next to me at the bar. He thinks our story is great, and wants to contribute to our celebration. We cheers, to commemorate the moment, grateful for Kurt the bartender, and some additional pixie dust, courtesy of a fellow Disney World Guest.

It’s one of my favorite, Lounging Around Disney, moments.

Tambu Lounge– Polynesian Resort

Speaking of drink souvenirs… I appreciate a normal- in- appearance, expertly-crafted cocktail, but a drink that is visually entertaining, even considered a “gimmick,” is hard for me to pass up. If you are truly Lounging Around Disney, quirky drinks are a must. I’m delighted to visit Tambu Lounge, set in the Polynesian Resort, outside of the Ohana restaurant. I order the famous Lapu Lapu. The drink is served IN A PINEAPPLE, and includes an umbrella. I take a few moments to admire the creation, before I partake

Shannon orders The Back Scratcher, which comes with an actual back scratcher.

If you need a respite from being busy, and want to add a little jollity to your day, Tambu Lounge is a nice option.

River Roost-Port Orleans-Riverside Resort

I’m sure there are people who visit The River Roost Lounge for a quiet evening libation, but most people visit this Port Orleans Riverside establishment, to see the famous Yehaa Bob Show.

I have an entire post dedicated to the show. Click here to read- Yehaa Bob Show

My mouth sips a Hurricane while my ears listen to the music.

The drinks here are basic beverages.

I imagine on non-show evenings, River Roost Lounge is a quiet, laid-back place, to have a cozy catch-up with friends/family.

Oga’s Cantina -Hollywood Studios

This Hollywood Studios, Galaxy’s Edge lounge, is popular. You can only enter with a reservation, and usually a reservation made well in advance. If you miss out on a reservation, be sure to keep checking during your trip. On a previous trip, we were able to snag a last minute opening.

This was the first time visiting Oga’s with friends, which added to the enjoyment.

Quick observations,

  • The lounge is hectic.
  • The theming is fun, especially if you are a Star Wars fan.
  • There’s a good chance you will stand during your visit.
  • The fuzzy Tauntaun numbing effect, is not as strong as it was during my previous visit.

Len ordered the non-alchoholic Jabba Juice.

It comes with blueberry boba balls, which are said to be eggs, collected from the Worrt tank.

If you have kids, or don’t consume alcohol, and like fun mocktails, Oga’s Cantina is a good lounge choice.

Coca-Cola Lounge -Disney Springs

Another good lounge choice, if you want some chill time with a drink, without the spirits, is the Coca-Cola Rooftop lounge, at Disney Springs. Though a few menu items involve alcohol, we visit this Lounging Around Disney spot, because

  1. It offers terrific views of Disney Springs

2. Someone actually likes Beverly

The selections at the Coca-Cola lounge include carbonated cocktails, soda flights, full size servings of the beverages sampled at Epcot’s Club Cool, and ice cream floats.

Disney World is teaming with lounges for Lounging Around Disney. We’ve been to an array, but it feels like we’ve only scratched the surface. That’s one of the things I like most about Disney, and travel in general. No matter how much you do and see, there is always more.
