If you build a garden, we will come, no matter the size. Though Williamsburg Botanical Garden is small, it is mighty (or at least it’s growing to be).
Located in Freedom Park, the garden is a free, colorful, oasis. A respite from the hustle and bustle of tourist laden spaces.
During our visit to Williamsburg, Virginia, we spend an hour trodding the dirt and stone paths, stopping to smell the flowers.
It’s quiet, except for the sounds of birds and pollinators, buzzing about, enjoying the floral buffet.
We catch a brief glimpse of other wildlife, peeking out to say hello.
The Williamsburg Botanical Garden would be a nice place to have a picnic, after securing tasty sandwiches from The Cheese Shop.
They arrange a lot of growth into a compact space, creating an intimate plant admiring experience.
I’m grateful that the garden provides a calm, contemplative space, to explore during our Williamsburg trip.
If I lived in Williamsburg and was having a blue day, I’d take a stroll around the gardens to cheer myself up.
