Where vacation goers congregate, so the ice cream resides. With Orlando being one of the meccas of vacations, there is more creamy delights to eat than there is time to eat it, but I try to do my part.
The Basket at Wine Bar George – Disney Springs
A fantastic thing about being a grown-up, is getting to have grown-up ice cream.
The Basket, the quick service at Wine Bar George, serves up wine flavored, frozen treats.
I go full out and get the sandwich. Two sugar cookies with The Basket’s “Frozcato” in between. The Frozcato is a combination of Dole Whip, Moscato, and vodka.
It’s hot outside. The Frozcato melts faster than the cookies thaw, making the sandwich a bit awkward to eat, not to mention messy.
I appreciate the cookies’ subtle sweetness that enhances the flavor of the Frozcato, instead of overtaking. The Frozcato is light and refreshing. The perfect treat on a hot summer day. Just be sure to have plenty of napkins on hand.
Toothsome Chocolate Emporium- Universal City Walk
If you prefer to drink your ice cream, then you must visit Toothsome at Universal City Walk.
Toothsome jumps on the over-the-top milkshakes trend.
You can sit in the main restaurant and sip to your heart’s content, or you can grab a milkshake to go.
We get the Espresso Buzz milkshake.
Unlike other milkshakes, that can give your cheeks a crossfit level workout, Toothsome’s milkshake is creamy and easily sippable. Still, it’s a lot of sweet, and even with sharing, it’s impossible to finish.
Toothsome is worth the visit for the wow factor.

Specialty Cones and Sundaes- Disney World
A heavenly glow emanates from the picture on my laptop. If there is something I love more than ice cream, it’s adorable ice cream.
During our last visit to New York City, I considered getting a unicorn cone a top priority.
When I see the picture of the Hei Hei cone at Disney World, and know in a few months I will be at the parks, I’m ecstatic. I have to get a picture with an ice cream cone that looks like a chicken. I even start looking for the right t-shirt to make the picture complete. Then poof, the Hei Hei cone is gone, replaced by a not-even-close-to-being-as-cute, new round of specialty cones.
By the time we visit Disney World, there’s an even newer round of cones and sundaes. We stop by Auntie Gravity’s in the Magic Kingdom to try the 2319 cone.
The mango and vanilla swirl soft serve, is delicious. The sock cookie is a nice touch.
Taste wise, it’s super. Looks wise, still not as adorable as a chicken.
Keep an eye out for which specialty cones and sundaes make the rounds during your Disney trip.
Florean Fortescues-Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Universal Studios
As soon as I knew of our return to The Wizarding World, I couldn’t wait to get ice cream at Florean Fortescues. It’s not often that ice cream from a theme park, ranks as some of my favorite in the world.
The ice cream is rich and creamy.
Being peanut butter obsessed, the strawberry peanut butter ice cream is one of my favorite flavors ever, and I’ve only found it so far at Floreans Fortescues. The Earl Grey (cold) is good too.
Because why not eat ice cream for breakfast? I recommend popping into the shop early to avoid the long line that builds up as the day progresses.
Who knows, you might even see Harry Potter while there.
I assume he had to scoop ice cream to pay off those Wizarding College loans.
The best part about Orlando, is that no matter how many ice cream places you visit, when you return, there will be a whole line up of new places to try. Can’t wait for Orlando ice cream edition 3.

atThat Frozcato looks amaaaazingg! I’m not big on things that are messy to eat, but I think I’d make an exception for that one
