Miami is a city, offering a variety of experiences. You can hob nob with the fancy, in South Beach. Inspire yourself with art, in the Wynwood neighborhood, or feel immersed in culture, in Little Havana. Of course, being a city that promotes tourism, you are bound to stumble across touristy spots, like Bayside Marketplace-Miami.
Being a habitual traveler, I’ve learned a thing or two along the way. An important lesson, don’t over- schedule a trip. Having every minute of the day booked, leaves no space for spontaneity and surprises. It also leaves no time for a needed rest.
It’s one of those travel days, where you engage in a fun adventure the first half of the day. Now, you are too worn out for another big activity, yet, it feels too early to call it a day and head back to the hotel.
Our day exploring Little Havana with Miami Culinary Tours, was fantastic. We don’t need a snooze, but we want some time to chill. That’s how we end up at Bayside Marketplace-Miami.
Bayside Marketplace-Miami, is a complex containing shops, bars, restaurants, and amusing, touristy activities.
We spend the first part of our visit, walking around, people watching.
Bayside Marketplace-Miami, has some impressive trees.
There is a stage, with live music, with plenty of space for sitting.
After grabbing a lemonade, we sit and listen to the tunes. People who catch the groove, and get up to dance, offer additional entertainment.
It’s a relaxing way to spend an afternoon. Sometimes, you need a nice, passive, activity.
Since we like adding sidequests to our trips, we are now attempting to ride all of the wheels we encounter during adventures.
At sunset, we head to Bayside Marketplace-Miami’s Skyviews Miami Observation Wheel.
I thought sunset would include waiting in a long line, but we hop right on.
Roll your eyes if you must, at the touristy-ness of this activity, but we’ve yet to be disappointed by wheel views.
It’s all about the views.
The respite works. Instead of taking a rideshare back to the hotel, we use our legs.
It’s a perfect evening, to walk along the water.
If you want to have more authentic experiences when you visit Miami, visit the Wynwood neighborhood, or take a stroll through Little Havana. If you need a break in a curated environment, where you can grab a drink, listen to music, and do some great people watching, stop off for an hour or two, at Bayside Marketplace-Miami.
