Epcot Eats-Disney World

PLEASE NOTE, THIS POST MAY INCLUDE AFFILIATE LINKS, MEANING THAT IF YOU CLICK ON A LINK AND MAKE A PURCHASE, I'LL RECEIVE A SMALL COMMISION. THIS WILL COME AT NO COST TO YOU.

My favorite Disney World Park to eat in is Epcot. You can eat around the world in just a few hours.

Karamell-Kuche – Germany Pavilion

This is one of our must eats on every visit to Epcot. I love the chocolate/caramel covered strawberry.

We also tried the caramel popcorn this time around. There’s something marvelous about fresh, not overly sweet, caramel.

Cotton Candy Art- China Pavilion

I’ve been obsessed with cotton candy art for a few years. I can while away an hour on YouTube watching cotton candy art videos.  Though it’s popular in Asian countries, it hasn’t gained full popularity in the United States.

When we stumble upon the cotton candy artist in Epcot’s China Pavilion, I am elated.

On a rainy day, it’s an enjoyable time, watching the artist apply his craft.

Of course I have to get one for myself.

I now understand the new trend of brides carrying cotton candy instead of flowers.

Now I’m not a big fan of eating cotton candy. It usually just tastes like sugar, but my cotton candy flower is delicious. Vibrant, fruity flavors, tickle my tongue.

I gobble it up, before the Florida humidity does.

Biergarten – Germany Pavilion

Because we like achieving goals, one of our ongoing Disney missions, is to eat at a restaurant in every Epcot, Worldshowcase, country.

On our last visit, we ate in France. This time, we tackle a Disney park fan favorite, Biergarten.

Biergarten is a German food buffet, that includes traditional entertainment.

I’m no stranger to German food. My Grandmom Elsa came from Germany, to the United States, as a teenager. We used to spend every Sunday afternoon at her house.

I’m pretty sure I’m the only one at the buffet who exclaims,

“Oh wow, liverwurst! Yum.”

It’s been years since I’ve had liverwurst (as a child eaten in a sandwich with mustard, and raw, white, onions), and I can attest that I still find it tasty. I went back for seconds.

The pork loin, with apricot compote, shines.

We nosh on German specialties until our stomachs cannot handle more.

Then the entertainment begins.

Songs, horns, and my favorite…more cowbell. For the polkas, diners are invited to the stage to show off their dancing skills.

Several times we’re invited to raise our glasses to toast,

“Zicke Zacke, Zicke Zacke, Hoi Hoi Hoi!”

The atmosphere, music, toasts, and overall joviality, uplift my spirits.

Epcot prides itself on hiring country natives for their World Showcase, but our server at Biergarten, has a noticeable Texas accent. Our table mates finally have the nerve to ask,

“You don’t sound like you’re from Germany. You sound like you’re from Texas.”

Our server Robert explains that while living in Germany as a boy, he learned to speak English from the American GIs stationed where he lived, hence the Texas accent.

While delivering drinks and clearing plates, Robert teaches us German words and phrases. A little touch that elevates the experience.

I understand now why people sing Biergarten’s praises (and the pretzel rolls with cheese soup for dipping).

The overall atmosphere and entertainment is upbeat and immersive. The food is scrumptious, and brought back, pleasant, childhood memories.

I think Biergarten is a must do experience at least once when visiting Disney World.

*A huge thanks to Julieanne from A Dream is a Wish. I booked my park tickets through her, and she was a dream to work with. It didn’t cost extra to go through her, but it took all of the complication out of booking. I plan on booking our whole trip through A Dream is a Wish when we return to Disney World for the 50th Anniversary. If you’re planning a trip to Disney World or want to book a Disney Cruise, I highly recommend contacting A Dream is a Wish.
