The Big Apple is filled with opportunity for New York City Ice Cream. From famous places like Serendipity, to new comers, like Tipsy Scoop, it’s difficult to walk a Manhattan mile and not find a creamy treat.
TAIYAKI
I have a dream. A dream to eat ice cream that looks like a unicorn.
On my ice cream bucket list, New York City Ice Cream shop, TAIYAKI was second only to Salt and Straw.
Located in the Chinatown section of New York City, we arrive to TAIYAKI in the afternoon. Although there is a line, it’s nothing compared to the pictures I’ve seen, with excited patrons stretched around the block.
I’m overcome with giggly enchantment, as the staff hands me my unicorn ice cream, in a fish cone.
Shannon gets a less unicorn-fied option. We both choose Matcha as our ice cream flavor.
I’m just here for the cuteness. I don’t have high expectations for the taste, but the soft serve is creamy and bursting with flavor.
The fish cone is dense and filled with sweet red bean paste.
If you are in New York City, you have to stop at TAIYAKI for an instagram, and taste worthy, fish cone.
TIPSY SCOOP
Priding themselves as a “barlour”, Tipsy Scoop makes booze infused ice cream.
Tipsy Scoop has a menu filled with delicious sounding, creative, flavors. Making a choice is challenging.
I end up with a scoop of Strawberry Rhubarb Bourbon.
Shannon has the Dark Chocolate Whiskey Salted Caramel.
Each spoonful is expertly balanced. The alcohol never overpower the other flavors.
If you are an ice cream enthusiast, with a penchant for adult beverages, Tipsy Scoop is a must.
Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory
After two days of more creative ice cream offerings of New York City Ice Cream, we get back to basics at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.
Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory serves up classic flavors with a high level of creaminess.
My coffee ice cream performs a happy dance on my tongue.
The bonus, you can enjoy your cold treat, while walking along the water, feasting your eyes on the Brooklyn Bridge.
As an ice cream enthusiast, New York City is the perfect destination to indulge my favorite foodie love. I can’t wait to return in the future to partake in more New York City Ice Cream fun.

atI’m not so much into icecream, but that matcha icecream looks really good. Definitely something to try if I go to New York one day 🙂
